Hi, I am Priti Shahi, an architect by profession and a passionate admirer of art, craftsmanship, and India's rich cultural heritage. Growing up in Maharashtra, I was fascinated by the beauty and grandeur of the Paithani weave. For generations, owning a Paithani has been a cherished dream for every Marathi woman. I fondly remember seeing my mother, grandmother, and aunts draped in their treasured Paithanis during weddings, festivals, and family celebrations. More than just a saree, a Paithani was a symbol of tradition, pride, and timeless elegance.
Over the years, the love for Paithani has travelled far beyond the boundaries of Maharashtra, finding a place in wardrobes across India and around the world. Yet, as lifestyles evolve, sarees are worn less frequently, while the admiration for the Paithani weave remains as strong as ever.
This thought gave birth to Paithani & Beyond.
